Introduction
The BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab is pleased to present the High School Market Simulation Challenge. The Rotman FRT-Lab is a state-of-the-art facility at the Rotman School of Management that contributes to the integration of theory and practice by running interactive simulation-based learning sessions and providing students with real-time access to financial resources and databases.
The Rotman Finance Lab hosts the annual Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC), a 3-day simulated market challenge featuring 50 competing universities from around the world. RITC is executed though the RIT Market Simulator and associated Decision Cases (RIT) an in-house software developed by the Rotman Finance Lab to reflect the behaviour of financial markets.
The Event
The High School Market Simulation Challenge provides exceptional high school students with an introduction to the field of finance and an opportunity to learn through simulated business scenarios. Students will participate in a morning workshop designed to introduce them to financial markets and the RIT Market Simulator platform, then in the afternoon they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their newly learned skills through a Market Simulation Challenge using the RIT Market Simulator. No prior preparation is necessary for this challenge, and all required resources will be provided before and during the competition.
