A
First-Year Learning Community (FLC)
is a small group of first-year students who are registered in several of the same courses, labs, and tutorials. FLC sessions begin during the first week of classes and then run weekly. The sessions include academic, developmental, and social activities facilitated by upper-year students.
All incoming Arts and Science students can apply to Join a FLC. If you are interested in joining a FLC, please complete the following registration form. FLC applications for the 2024/2025 academic year close at 12:00 pm, July 2nd, 2024. Please email us at

The First-Year Learning Communities program aims to connect Arts and Science students with peers to build friendships and support their academic success. We strongly encourage registrations from students who will be living off-campus, students who are the first in their family to attend university and international students.
